Dry-type Resin Distribution Transformers Trihal (Schneider Electric license)

Trihal is a premium-class resin transformer manufactured using vacuum technology. It is used to transform medium-voltage electrical energy (6 kV to 35 kV) into low voltage (400 to 420 V).

The absence of oil or other insulating liquids makes it practically non-flammable, allowing installation close to energy consumers. It is particularly well-suited for supplying industrial plants, large stores, and high-rise buildings. It is intended mainly for indoor installations.

Dry Resin Distribution Transformers

Trihal Cast Resin Transformers – Premium Class

Key features of TRIHAL transformers:

  • very high resistance to environmental conditions – environmental class E4 C4 F1,

  • windings made of aluminium or copper, using a unique technology developed by Schneider Electric (the associated vacuum epoxy resin casting system ensures a uniform and compact coil structure),

  • GN coils mechanically reinforced during production by adding special fiberglass meshes and mats,

  • robust mechanical construction,

  • transformers are virtually maintenance-free.

Transformers can be supplied without an enclosure (protection degree IP00) or in enclosures with protection degrees IP20, IP21, or IP31. They can also be equipped with fan sets, allowing temporary overloading up to 140% of rated power.

The high-voltage windings of these transformers are manufactured using the vacuum method. The windings are wound with round wire using the “random” technique or with foil using the layer-coil technique. Coils made with this technique are enclosed in molds and vacuum-cast with epoxy resin. Transformers produced with this technology can be used in all typical applications.
